You will definitely want to call or click on the link to each resort above to get more details of what kind of amenities they provide. While each is outstanding at what they do, you may find one that captures your interests more. You may also prefer one side of the Downtown Peninsula over another. Wild Dunes is the only resort that is located across the Cooper River from Downtown (on the other side of Mt. Pleasant) while the other resorts are on the Ashley River side (past West Ashley and Johns Island). That said... the drive over to Kiawah and Seabrook is an outstanding experience all its own! I used to work out there and while my commute was 45 minutes each way, I felt like it was a daily drive through a relaxing abyss. My children call it "driving through the forest" haha! It is truly a beautiful and blissful ride!

If one of these beach resorts is more on the pricy side for you, yet you would like to be on the beach, you may want to consider looking into Tides on Folly Beach (the Old Holiday Inn). This is the only hotel located on the beach in Charleston and has been renovated and converted from the old Holiday Inn. While it is not a resort, the quaint little town of Folly Beach offers a great experience with beach life!
