What are the best things to do in Charleston with kids when you only have one day to do it in? Check out our Charleston for Kids page and then come back here to see a suggested day trip itinerary.
My biggest advice here is to be very weary of packing too many things into your day with real little ones. Not only the heat but also the humidity in the summer months can wipe the best of us out. So bring lots of water and plan for delays. Scheduling rest times are a good idea too. Have you seen the hand held fans that squirt water? Another lifesaver for parents of the very young! (PS... it's great for mom and dad too! When we are out to eat, I put ice cubes in it to keep the water refreshing and cool.)
Please keep in mind that this All in the Family itinerary is not a one-size-fits-all. So use the following simply as a suggestion and curtail it to your liking. Also, please note that there are multiple options listed under each part of the day. Your ability to do more than one option will depend on how much time you spend at your first stop. In some instances, only one activity will be doable. Regarding any of the dining options: These are purely suggestions based on where you may end your touring of the city.
